Vacation

It's that time of year.

Time to pack up 90% of what we own and drag it half way across the country where we'll use 10% of it
.

This year we're going to visit my dad and his new wife at their place on the Grande Ronde river nestled in the craggy mountains of Oregon and Washington.  My dad has lived in the Pacific Northwest since I was in high school.  He's a total outdoorsman -  he loves to hunt and fish.

My kids are looking forward to fishing, rafting and some BB gun lessons.  Yes, I said BB gun lessons.  It seems my dad still has my old BB gun.  My childhood summers were spent at my grandparent's ranch in the Four Corners area of New Mexico.  We fished like crazy,  messed around with the BB guns, weeded and hoed the garden, collected the day's egg, and played with all manner of lizards, tadpoles, minnows and the baby chickens.  Those were the days.

This is the closest my kids are going to get to experiencing anything resembling my childhood summers.  If this goes well maybe I'll just ship the little buggers off to my dad for a few weeks every summer.  Wooooooot!  I love it when a plan comes together!

Tilt

Tilt.  I have it.

Cash game tilt.

Live cash game tilt.

I cannot seem to have a hand hold up.

I bet enough to let the other guy know that his hand can't possibly be good.

Yet, they continue to suck out.

Over and over.

It's one thing for them to have a better hand the whole way.  I friggin hate it when I'm ahead until the bitter end and have to fold or be the stupidest of P.o.W.s  (P.o.W. = pay off wizard, someone who is so good at poker that they repeatedly pay off the better hand ;)

I'm taking a break from the live cash game at least until I can get my head on right.  I don't like the person I've become at the table.  Whoever said poker is fun is a fucking liar and I'm calling them out right now.  Poker isn't fun.  Winning is fun.  Losing sucks balls.

PokerSlut Tour XIV Stud

You probably won't see me at this event since I'll be live pokering in Michigan with my friends Sly Selea, Lillian, T and Zerb.  You probably won't see them at it either.  So play amongst yourselves.  Somebody needs to send me a recap so I can do the leaderboard.  Oh crap!  I haven't done this week's leaderboard yet.  D'oh.

iGoogle

As you all know by now I [heart] all things Google.

I've found ANOTHER reason to love Google.

Yes, you get to suffer through another Google post.  Lucky you!

I've been using the iGoogle homepage for quite some time now.  I love it.  All my gadgets and doodads all on one, er, three pages.

Oh look, tweets from @Zerbet, @smegatron and, you don't say, @ohcaptain.

What's really remarkable about this iGoogle page you ask yourself?  Srsly, what is this bitch babbling on and on about?  I don't get it.

Well the cool this about this one is the THEME!  The CUSTOM THEME!  I made it myself.

Oooh.  Ahhhh.  No, really, I did.

I used to use the theme of the day.  It was decent enough and appealed to my ADD but some days were just not good.  I was trolling for some new theme to apply today when I spotted this little side bar that teased me with the idea of making my own theme.  Well, sign me up.  I have over 750 wallpaper files I can modify to use for my header.  Lead the way!

I used this metallic wallpaper I got from Interfacelift.com to make this theme and it was retardedly easy.  Now don't get all excited thinking you have total control over the end result because you can pretty much just pick a graphic, the text color and the accent color from a few color choices but that's much better than putting up with something somebody else made, yes?

Until next time!  Happy Googling!

Smart Cars

My dad sends me an ungawdly amount of spam mail.

I love him dearly but I do wish he would stop.

Every now and then he passes on the rare gem.  This is one of them.

Smart Car

Is this what we are going to be forced to drive?

NO! NO! NO!

Look at all the Great New Choices!

The Smorvette!

The Smaudi A3 AWD!

The Smamborghini!

The Smorsche!

The Smorsche Targa!

And, last, but not least.... The Smerrari!

No Internet?

OMGWTF!?!?!?  The internet is down!  Just kidding.

Had my heart racing for a second there; yours too probably.

I'm just waiting for the internet to go out at my house to see if my kids insist we go somewhere with free wi-fi so they can continue to play their Maplestory or Mabinogi.

I anticipate mutiny if I just wave them off and tether my cell phone so I don't have to go into withdrawals.

Poker

I know it's hard to believe but I wrote a poker post over at Corporation Poker

I'm trying to play the PokerRoad League which is a mini-WSOP but I've had my life taken over by non-pokering events.  I'll try to get back on that wagon before it's too late to make a run at the leaderboard again.

F Twitter

This is too funny.

Is there something wrong with me because I don't feel any compulsion to tweet or be funny when I do?  I don't care how many people follow me.  I just like reading what other people write.

So, for the love of all that is hollyweird, go follow @ShaneNickerson and give him some love.

Home Game

I was chastised by a Home Game regular for not doing a write up.  I retorted that I couldn't recall any interesting hands.  He replied with, "I survived running into quad Kings."  Like I would remember that.

About an hour before game time, Gordo called asking about a cash game.  Normally we run a cash before the home game when we have out of town Effers here for the weekend which wasn't the case this time but I told him to come on over and we would take care of it.  Gordodaddy and his friend, Carm, were here from out of town and wanted to play some poker!

The pre-game cash game was short and sweet.  Everybody was more or less even still by the time we started the tournament.

My Home Game offers a one-time-only rebuy if you go broke before the end of the 4th level (20 minute levels).  There were only 3 rebuys which is rather unusual.  This crowd was just not going to gambol.  I had a couple decent Aces but no pairs at all.   I had 4500 in chips at 300/600 or 400/800 when I picked up ATc and decided to ship after a limper.  I get called before it gets back to the limper who makes a big deal out of not being able to fold.  The flop comes out KJx.  Not good for me but it could be worse.  They both check and the turn brings and Ace but I'm not thrilled.  There is a bet and a call.  The river is a blank; another bet and call.  The limper shows AA for a set of As.  The other guy folds his QQ face up.  FML.

As soon as Gordodaddy and Carm are out we get another cash game fired up.  I managed to win back my entry in the cash game.  I do recall flopping a set of 2s against Gordo and raising him when I boated the turn and got him to pay me off on a nice value river bet.  :)

In the "what comes around goes around" category:  I paid off Terry when he rivered a flush to my TPQK only to laugh we he got his hand outrun by Gordodaddy's rivered flush.  Bwaahahhahaha!

I need to have another Effer infested home game.  Those truly are the best.

Marriage

I'm all for everybody having the right to be as miserably married as the next person.  Let's spread the joy people.  Think of all the lawyers, accountants, marriage counselors that will benefit from this.  There's got to be at least 5% GNP growth in this alone.  For gawd's sake, let's be loving enough to allow everybody this honor.
