The plan was to WATCH my team bowl this morning and give the ankle one more week to recuperate.
But, noo o oo o oo o.
Seems our regular bowler didn't show up because we had a sub scheduled.
Sigh, I even called him to make sure he'd be there.
Somebody's going to get Butch slapped.
184, 171..... 115.
Yeah, you read that right: 115. I had 6 open frames, 3 of which where splits. I could not pick up a 10 pin to save my life. At least I'll have some handicap next week.
Natalie bowled a 300 the first game. She's been on fire lately. NH, GG.
My ankle handled it remarkably well. I had to keep it on the table between frames but all in all not too bad. This looks like a fun league and we've got a great team. I really like bowling with Jimmy (650 series, tyvm) and Trey (OMG don't hurt me next time you see me, Zooks! I really had something important to do, no really!). We have a lot of fun bowling together. We also bowl together on Monday nights with Steve and Jon but that doesn't start until after Labor Day. My ankle should be much better by then.

A Nothing Day
Finally, a day where I don't HAVE to do anything. Oh sure, I have stuff I COULD do. But, I WON'T. I'll save that for LATER.
After I watched Gene Simmon's Family Jewels and Entourage I settled in with Ye Olde Laptop for some quality "Do Nothing" time.
I ventured onto Full Tilt to see what was going on. Pretty much nothing but there was a $5 MTT starting up in 15 minutes. So I jumped on.
Let's just say I have no intentions of every doing that again.
Not only are the idiots, they are push monkey idiots. I was SHOCKED at how badly this played.
I pick up my first hand in 2+ rounds: TT in BB. One limper, a late position raise and I call, limper calls. Flop 5 3 2 rainbow.
I push and get called.
That last one on the river was just overkill IMHO. Srsly. IGHN.
I'm off to hit n run the local Culver's. Flavor of the day: Creamy Butterfinger.

Cards, Cards, Cards
I have sooooo many decks of cards.
No, really.
I'm not even including all the paper Bicycle, casino, souvenir, and pron decks that I have.
Those near and dear to me know of this "issue" and graciously choose to ignore me when I start talking about cards.
I, for one, LOVE the four color decks. I even snagged a Copag set of them:
I had already ordered a set of the "official" and "authentic" WSOP cards online from the Gamblers General Store before I even went to Vegaspalooza. Snuffy told me he was headed to the B&M store and I tagged along. Talk about card lover's paradise! I snagged me a deck of KEMs, woooot! and a couple sets of Star Wars cards for the kids.
I also asked them about the cards that were rejected after the first day of use. Now THOSE I'd really like to get my hands on. Not sure where that stands; I'll probably have to give them a call here pretty soon.
The other half tossed me a package after his trip the the mail box. This is what was in it!

School is BAAAAAAACK!
Wooooooooooot!
The Zooks boys headed off to their first day of school for this year!
What does Momma Zooks do? Why type her little fingers raw updating the Home Owners Association Email List and Directory Spreadsheet. Oh, joy.
The good news is that it keeps me off my sprained ankle. On Sunday I was preparing for a lively poker session on Ye Olde Laptop. I was dragging said laptop down the stairs to the basement when I somehow missed that last step.
Mommy Zooks said many bad words... out loud. Very loud.
I've been through this enough to know that the first hours are critical. I stayed off of it, did my best gymnastic maneuvers to keep it elevated and iced the heck out of it. After one horrible night's sleep it was somewhat swollen and bruised but it would hold a little weight.
Bad news: no bowling for a while. The new season starts up later this month. I hope to recover enough by then to play.
But, I digress!
Schooooooooooooooooooooool is in session!
The little darlings will be home soon. Sigh. I dunno who's idea it was to have two half days of school before the first week of full days BUT IT IS A SUCKY IDEA. We didn't have that when I was a kid in the dark ages before Cable Television, Cordless Phones and Desktop Computers. Look at us now: strong and hairy like real women should be!
Kids these days are soft. Soft I tell you.
